Social Impact

Mara Adhbhar is a Scottish social enterprise committed to strengthening the people who strengthen their communities. Our commercial leadership and organisational development work directly funds coaching support for individuals and groups who face barriers to accessing high‑quality, reflective wellbeing support.

Our Mission

To make coaching accessible to people who need it most but can least afford it—unpaid carers, community leaders, small charities and individuals navigating pressure, change or personal challenges.

We believe coaching should not be a privilege. It should be a resource that supports resilience, wellbeing and sustainable leadership across all parts of society.

Who We Support

Our social impact work focuses on people whose roles carry significant emotional, social or community responsibility:

People providing essential care
Leaders of third sector and public sector organisations
Individuals holding complex responsibilities with limited resources
Community organisations
Groups working at the heart of local wellbeing
People facing barriers to accessing coaching
Individuals who would benefit from reflective support but cannot access it through traditional routes.

These programmes offer reflective space, emotional support, leadership development and wellbeing tools that strengthen both individuals and the communities they serve.

How Our Model Works

Our social impact is funded through a simple, transparent model:

1. Commercial coaching and consultancy
Organisations purchase leadership coaching & team development
2. Revenue reinvestment
Any profit of every commercial programme is reinvested directly into our social impact work.
3. Accessible coaching programmes
We deliver wellbeing coaching, group sessions and leadership support to people who otherwise could not access it.

This model ensures that every commercial client contributes to strengthening Scotland’s communities.

What Social Impact Looks Like

Our programmes provide:

• Reflective space for people under pressure
• Emotional support for those carrying heavy responsibilities
• Leadership development for community leaders
• Wellbeing coaching for carers and volunteers
• Group coaching that builds connection and resilience
• Neuroinclusive support for individuals navigating ADHD or other neurodivergent experiences

This is coaching as social infrastructure—supporting the people who support everyone else.

Our Approach

All social impact coaching is delivered by professionally qualified practitioners with advanced training, substantial coaching hours and supervision aligned with EMCC Global and the Association for Coaching (AC).

Our approach emphasises:

• Compassion
• Reflection
• Resilience
• Trauma‑informed practice
• Neuroinclusive support
• Values‑based coaching

This ensures our social impact work is safe, ethical and grounded in professional excellence.

Blue Mind Leadership

Our social impact programmes are shaped by Blue Mind Leadership —our guiding philosophy inspired by blue‑space wellbeing, reflective practice and sustainable leadership.

This approach helps individuals build calm, clarity and resilience, even in demanding circumstances.

Living Well in Scotland®

Our storytelling arm, Living Well in Scotland®, shares reflective writing and wellbeing narratives shaped by Scotland’s landscapes, communities and lived experiences. It amplifies the voices of people at the heart of our social mission.

Why Social Impact Matters

Strong communities rely on strong people.
Strong people need support.
Coaching provides that support.

By reinvesting our commercial income into accessible coaching, Mara Adhbhar helps create a Scotland where leadership, wellbeing and resilience are not privileges—they are shared resources.
